ANNOUCEMENTS: Betty Simons to celebrate 100th birthday

Betty Simons is set to celebrate her 100th birthday Friday.

She is the mother of Nina Zentner and Martin Samuel, grandmother of four and great-grandmother of eight.

Born in Poland on Sept. 12, 1908, she was brought as a baby to London, where she grew up, married and raised her children before moving to San Francisco in 1970. She enjoyed an independent life until deciding to move into Atria Burlingame about five years ago.

She sees her family regularly and enjoys socializing with her fellow residents. She is blessed with a sharp mind and a wicked sense of humor.
