Four shot in East Palo Alto on Friday
Two unrelated incidents occured a half mile from each other
At about 10:40 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2300 block of Clarke Avenue and found three victims. All three were taken to Stanford Hospital for treatment.
East Palo Alto Police Detective David Carson said it's unclear at this point whether or not the shooting was a drive-by. He also didn't know whether the motive was personal or gang-related. It did not appear the victims returned fire, he said.
At 11:01 p.m., a call came in reporting a separate shooting on the 2200 block of Euclid Avenue, half a mile away. Officers arrived there to find one man down. He was taken to Stanford Hospital as well.
Carson said that Euclid shooting happened at a large family gathering in which "pretty much everyone was drunk." The shooter, he said, was someone who was attending the party, but a definite suspect has not yet been pinned down.
"I'm following leads," he said. "I'm closing in."
